Loisann’s Hope House Executive Director Cait Woodward says the organization works hard to meet nearly every need for families in crisis, from housing support to case management. She says the community can make a big impact by providing the basics — bedding, toiletries, food and cleaning supplies — which are always in high demand. Meeting these everyday needs allows Hope House to focus its resources on the programs and services that help families achieve long-term stability. The Central Virginia Battlefields Trust is marking 30 years of preservation with its “60 for 30” campaign, an effort to raise $60,000 in recognition of three decades spent protecting historic battlefield land across the region. The fundraising supports CVBT’s overall mission and helps position the organization to act quickly when threatened land becomes available.

Separately, CVBT is also exploring opportunities this year to expand public access on some preserved properties, including the possible addition of walking trails and interpretive signage. Those access improvements are still in the planning stages but reflect a broader goal of connecting the public more directly with the land and its history.  cvbt.org
