LISTEN: Season of giving includes giving blood

Alexis Innis with American Red Cross Blood Services says 62 percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, yet only about three percent actually do. She notes that if every eligible donor gave blood just once a year, blood shortages would largely disappear. Innis describes blood donation as one of the simplest and most impactful ways to serve the community. Donated blood is critical for trauma victims, cancer patients, and those undergoing surgeries or emergency treatment.
