The American Red Cross says this winter’s storms and bitter cold have taken a toll on blood donations. Alexis Innis says many January blood drives were canceled, leaving supplies critically low in some areas.
She also encourages people to check their eligibility before assuming they can’t give — many past restrictions have been dropped. The Red Cross is urging eligible donors to schedule an appointment soon, saying even one donation can make a lifesaving difference.
