LISTEN: Cultural Quilt series launches with focus on immigration

John Hennessy is kicking off Fredericksburg’s new Cultural Quilt lecture series — a free program that dives into the city’s sister cities and the powerful role different cultures have played in shaping both the community and the country. Hosted at the downtown library, the series connects global stories to Fredericksburg’s own backyard.

It begins February 18 at 6:30 p.m. with Hennessy’s talk, Beyond the Ocean Gateway: Immigrants and Immigration in Fredericksburg. He’ll explore how waves of immigrants didn’t just settle here — they built, shaped, and defined the city’s character and growth across generations.
