(Louisa)- A defense attorney is seeking to have a Confederate portrait taken down in a Louisa County courtroom for a murder trial. Attorney Douglas Ramseur called the courtroom’s painting of Robert E. Lee a symbol of unequal protection under the law during a hearing last week. His client, Darcel Murphy, is heading to trial in May for a 2016 murder. The prosecution didn’t take a position.
