(Richmond)- Governor Youngkin has announced a new plan to improve childcare and education in the Commonwealth. Youngkin has introduced “Building Blocks for Virginia Families” — an initiative to improve child education by funding education programs and giving parents various options and support. The governor’s office says it was created in response to the expiration of funds from the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act — a post-pandemic plan that gave Virginia millions to expand childcare and early education programs as parents returned to work.
