19-Year-Old Stafford Fire Department Employee Charged With Murder

(Stafford)- The Stafford Sheriff’s Office says a 19-year-old is behind bars after allegedly killing his 3-month-old son.    On Friday, deputies responded to Richland Road for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, officials located an unresponsive 3-month-old boy.  The child was transported to a nearby hospital where he was  pronounced dead.

The child’s father, Dallas Bowling, is charged with second-degree murder and felony child abuse.

Bowling, an employee with Stafford County Fire and Rescue and was put on administrative leave following his arrest.

Stafford Fire and Rescue released this statement:

“Stafford County Fire and Rescue is aware of the serious allegations of second-degree murder and felony child abuse against an employee of the department. The allegations do not reflect the values of the department, which all members are expected to uphold. The employee has been placed on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Stafford County Fire and Rescue is fully cooperating with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
