(DC)- The Smithsonian National Zoo’s giant pandas will be heading back to China sooner than anticipated. Zoo officials this week told the Washington Post that the pandas will leave Dulles on November 15th. They were originally set to leave for China December 7. The departure will mark the first time D.C. has not had resident pandas since 1972. There is no word on whether pandas will ever return to Washington.
