(Spotsylvania)- A 50-year-old Manassas Park man is facing charges after an off-duty Spotsylvania Sheriff’s deputy observed him pickpocketing women in a department store. Major Troy Skebo says the off-duty deputy was shopping at a local department store on Saturday. While shopping, the deputy observed a man following older women through the store while standing extremely close to them. Skebo says the off-duty deputy watched as the man reached for a woman’s purse and attempted to open it while going unnoticed. After a review of the store’s security cameras, deputies found that Williams made other pickpocketing attempts with different women as they shopped.
