(Undated)- Landslide wins in the Democrat and Republican primaries for the new state senate seat in the area. Joel Griffin with nearly 60 percent vote in the Democratic primary in the 27th District. Tara Durant with about 57% of the vote against Matt Strickland. Lee Peters with almost 80% of the vote in 65th House District. Peters will face off against former Delegate Josh Cole in November.
