(DC)- Halfway to bloom. The National Park Service says the cherry trees around D.C.’s Tidal Basin have reached Stage 3, at which the florets extend. This stage usually lasts 12 days. Cherry blossoms typically reach peak bloom around the Tidal Basin sometime between late March and early April. Last year they reached peak bloom on March 21.
