Prince William Supervisor To Resign

(Gainesville)- Prince William Supervisor Peter Candland has announced he’ll resign this Friday after ten years and three terms in office representing the western part of the county. His decision comes after the board approved the building of data centers on more than 800 acres next to the Manassas National Battlefield. Candland abstained from the vote and stands to make millions of dollars from selling his home on land designated for data centers. He says he made his decision after being told by the commonwealth’s attorney that he wouldn’t be able to vote on some future land use decisions because of a conflict of interest.
