UVA Health Believes More Monkeypox Cases Than Reported

(Charlottesville)- UVA Health believes there are more monkeypox cases than reported. The state is confirming 72 cases. Health officials say some patients are not realizing they have the virus, and even if they do, testing is hard to find. Doctors hope testing availability will greatly increase soon, so they are able to catch more infections. Currently, one thousand vaccines are being shipped to the state. This comes as the World Health Organization declares the spread a global health emergency.
