Report: Several Hundred State Employees Resign Instead Of Ending Telework

(Richmond)- Several hundred state employees are opting to quit instead of returning to the office after the end of telework.  The move comes as a result of Governor Glenn Youngkin’s policy to end state employee telework.  All such employees without special permission were required to return to the office as of July 5th.   A report cites FOIA obtained documents that show more than three-hundred state employees from five agencies have instead chosen to quit.  The Department of Human Resource Management is still working to determine precisely how many state employees worked remotely during the pandemic with a November 1st due date for the department’s final report on the subject.
