(Richmond)- State health officials are keeping a close eye on Lyme disease. The Virginia Department of Health says that the number of cases have been going up and it’s transmitted by the Blacklegged Tick. Virginians should always check their skin when they spend time outdoors. More than a-thousand cases are reported across the Commonwealth each year.
