Second Possible Monkeypox Case Detected In VA

(Richmond)-  A possible second case of monkeypox in Virginia is under review.  The initial test performed by a state lab came out positive for the virus.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta will now be taking a look at the lab sample to either confirm or dispute the initial state lab’s finding.  The patient from northern Virginia got sick while traveling out of state and is now isolating at home.  Virgina’s first confirmed monkeypox case happened in May.
