(Manassas)- History has been made at a well-known school in Prince William County. Local and state officials gathered yesterday for the renaming ceremony of Stonewall Middle School. It is now named Unity Braxton Middle School which is named after Celestine and Carroll Braxton. The two were longtime African American heroes in Prince William County. School leaders decided to change the name because of Stonewall Jackson’s ties to the Confederacy.
