(Richmond)- A popular presence at a historic park in Richmond is dead. Maymont officials announced yesterday that a 20-year-old bison named Snoopy passed away Sunday after a brief illness. She was the senior matriarch of the three American bison who live at Maymont. Snoopy lived there for 19 years, and Maymont’s executive director says she represented an important piece of American history.
