Virginia Governor Looking To Bring Football Team To State

(Arlington)-  Governor Youngkin is looking to bring a National Football League team to Virginia and he’s hoping he can attract the Washington Commanders to the state.  Youngkin has hinted at efforts to bring the Commanders to Virginia, adding that a new stadium could be built for the team as soon as 2027.  The Republican has reportedly met with Commanders owner Daniel Snyder to discuss the possibility of moving the NFL franchise from FedEx Field in Maryland to Virginia.  State lawmakers are expected to meet this week to discuss legislation that would allow the sale of government bonds to help pay for the construction of a stadium.
