(Richmond)- Top medical professionals across the state are asking Governor Ralph Northam for help. The Virginia College of Emergency Physicians have asked Northam to declare another State of Emergency. The group of emergency physicians feel like this will help hospitals cope with the COVID-19 surge and provide access to additional resources. It would also provide the funding to hospitals to help with payroll for the staff who are working extra hours to fight the virus. Governor Northam has not commented on the request.
