(Richmond)- Governor Northam is proposing pay increases for State Troopers, deputy sheriffs, regional jail officers, and correctional officers. It equals up to a more than seven-percent pay raise for state troopers, an increase of 25-percent for new correctional officers, as well as about a 20-percent increase for entry-level deputy sheriffs and regional jail officers. This is all part of the governor’s proposed budget that will to the General Assembly.
