State Promotes Teen Driver Safety

(Richmond)- It’s National Teen Driver Safety Week and V-DOT wants to remind all teenage drivers to buckle up. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, more than two-thousand people were killed in 2019 in crashes that involved a teenage driver. Parents are also reminded to do their part by being a good role model, talking to their kids about the dangers of drug-and-alcohol use, and set consequences for distracted driving.
