(DC)- Reduced Metro service will last a lot longer than originally expected. Metro says nearly all of its lines will continue to operate every 30-minutes while the Red Line trains will operate every 15-minutes. The transit agency is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the train derailment on the Blue Line. The National Transportation Safety Board says the train went off the tracks at least three-times and they were lucky that the situation wasn’t worse than it was. Riders are encouraged to take Metrobus to get around the area faster. The reduced service is expected to last through Sunday.
