(Richmond)- The state Department of Wildlife Resources is issuing a deer warning for drivers. Officials say as the weather gets colder, motorists need to be on the lookout for more deer in the roadway. Virginia is listed as a “high risk” state for animal-versus-car crashes by State Farm. The insurer shows that collisions increased in the Commonwealth by more than seven-percent in the last year.
