(Richmond)- The Virginia Employment Commission is addressing a backlog of claims by expanding operations. The state continues to hire more people and is also improving technology to speed up the commission response. Officials say the commission has went from a staff of 800 people to more than two-thousand employees and contractors. Another upgrade in the system’s technology is expected to go online in October.
