(Richmond)- Officials with the Virginia Department of Health are concerned with the new Delta COVID-19 variant. Health personnel recently upgraded it to a variant of concern. The strand was previously considered as a variant of interest. Since March, more than 40 cases have been reported across Virginia. Health officials say that this variant could cause more severe illness and also spread easier.
