(Charlottesville)- A Virginia health expert is warning residents about a new variant of COVID-19. The Delta variant that’s popping up in the U.S. is proving to be more transmissible and is linked to a higher risk of hospitalization. However, Dr. Taison Bell with UVA Health says two-dose vaccines, such as Pfizer and Moderna, seem to be effective against the variant. He says more than six-percent of new reported COVID cases can be traced back to the Delta variant.
