Virginians Required To Report Job Search For Unemployment Benefits

(Richmond)- This week marks the first time Virginians will be required to report their job search to receive unemployment benefits in over a year. The Virginia Unemployment Commission is now requiring those who are collecting unemployment benefits to show proof of at least two weekly efforts to find work. This is the first time this stipulation has been in place since March of last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There are more than 530-thousand job openings across the commonwealth as of yesterday.
