Push For College Name Changes

(Richmond)- Leaders at the state Board of Community Colleges are suggesting name changes for two schools in Virginia. According to the Roanoke Times, Dabney Lancaster Community College and Patrick Henry Community College have already made their plans known to keep their names. This comes as the board has requested nearly two-dozen schools to change their names and those two to reconsider. The board says they suggested the changes because of the connections to confederates, slaveholders, and segregationists.
