(Richmond)- Governor Northam is putting the pressure on state officials to speed up processing unemployment claims. The Governor told the Virginia Employment Commission to invest 20-million-dollars to expand the process. With the money, V-E-C plans to hire more staff, make technology upgrades, and upgrade the insurance system. All of the enhancements are expected to be done by October 1st.
