(Richmond)- History will be made today in Virginia. Governor Northam will sign legislation that will legalize the simple possession of marijuana across the Commonwealth. Northam asked the General Assembly to move the effective date up from 2024 to July 1st, allowing it to be legal to possess up to an ounce of marijuana.
