State Police Report No Fatal Crashes During Traffic Safety Initiative

(Richmond)- Virginia State Police say there were no fatal crashes during the “I-95 Drive to Save Lives” initiative. The annual traffic enforcement initiative was held earlier this month in 15 states from Florida to Maine. Police reported 194 citations were issued for speeding and eleven were given for drivers not wearing a seatbelt. They also cited 20 drivers for cellphone use. All money from these tickets will go toward court fees and the state’s literary fund.
