(Richmond)- Governor Northam wants to speed up the legalization of marijuana. The governor is asking the General Assembly to allow adults to possess an ounce of marijuana starting on July 1st. The state currently plans to legalize weed in early 2024. Northam wants to speed up sealing and erasing the criminal records of people previously convicted for marijuana-related offenses. He also wants to allow people to grow up to four marijuana plants in their homes.
