(Richmond)- Virginia is one step closer to legalizing marijuana for adult recreational use. The green light would not be official until 2024 at the same time that it would be available for retail sales. Up to an ounce of the drug would become legal under the legislation. Governor Northam has long supported the measure, and the bill now goes to his desk for his signature. Virginia would be the first state in the South to legalize the drug.
