(Richmond)- The death penalty will soon be a thing of the past in Virginia. The General Assembly agreed to approve the bill yesterday that would end capital punishment. Governor Northam has said that he will sign the measure into law, as it now heads to his desk. Virginia will be the first Southern state to end executions.
