(Fairfax)- Residents in Northern Virginia are being warned of a police impersonator. Virginia State Police say that they have learned of someone calling from an area code of 276, and saying they work for the department. The impersonator has been telling people that their identity has been stolen, and they need to send money to clear the charges. State Police say they will never call you and ask for money, nor to clear arrest warrants. You can report telephone scams to the Federal Trade Commission by visiting f-t-c-dot-gov.
