(DC)- The National Zoo is no longer affiliating with Friends of the National Zoo. The Zoo Director says he’s sorry the relationship is ending but cited the coronavirus pandemic as the reason. The Zoo is dealing with a 15-million-dollar budget deficit. FONZ has been around since 1958 and hosted events, plus ran guest services. The Zoo will take over duties from the non-profit.
