Virginia Senate, House Pass Two Bills Allowing Illegal Immigrants In-State Tuition

(Richmond)- Illegal immigrants in Virginia may soon be able to get in-state tuition and financial aid. Two bills advancing through the state Senate and House are expanding on legislation passed last year giving students in-state tuition regardless of immigration status. Students have to have spent at least two years at a Virginia high school, have graduated and submitted a FAFSA form. If approved, the measures would take effect in August of next year.
