(DC)- As things start to reopen and get back to normal in DC, one landmark will remain closed for the foreseeable future. The Washington Monument will not reopen as soon as everyone originally thought. It had been shut down over the last two weeks as a safety precaution surrounding the Presidential Inauguration. The Monument will remain closed because of concerns with COVID-19. Officials with the National Park Service say the closure will last until further notice.
