Virginia National Guard Troops To Remain In Nation’s Capital

(DC)- Several Virginia National Guardsmen will remain in Washington, D.C.  Officials say that around a-thousand troops from the Commonwealth are staying put to help with things like crowd control and assistance at security checkpoints.  The soldiers were among the 25-thousand deployed to help with the Presidential Inauguration after the riots at the U.S. Capitol.  In all, about five-thousand troops will remain in D.C. until at least March.
