Minimum Wage Increase On Hold

(Richmond)- An increase of minimum wage is being delayed in Virginia. Lawmakers had planned for the increase to take effect on January 1st. That plan was put on hold by Governor Northam until May 1st. Beginning in May, hourly minimum wage will increase to nine-dollars-and-fifty-cents and next year it will rise to eleven-dollars per hour. Parts of Maryland saw their minimum wages increased last Friday.
