(Lexington)- The Stonewall Jackson statue is leaving Virginia Military Institute. The Board of Visitors voted to remove the statue of the Confederate General although it’s not known where it will go. VMI Board Chair Bill Boland says it’s possible the statue will end up at New Market where VMI cadets fought in the Civil War. Black VMI cadets have complained about racism at the military school. Virginia is planning an independent investigation into the claims.
