Free Clinics Get CARES Act Boost

(Richmond)- Free clinics around the state will soon get a much-needed financial boost. Governor Northam announced that three-million-dollars of federal CARES Act money will be sent to help fight the coronavirus and other common medical issues. The clinics can use the money for things like purchasing personal protective equipment, sanitation tools, and hiring new staff. Officials believe free clinics have averaged about 40-thousand-dollars each in expenses that were unexpected in the fight against COVID-19.
