Jobless Rate Increases Slightly In Virginia

(Richmond)- The unemployment rate is up slightly Virginia. Labor officials said yesterday the jobless rate ticked up slightly to six-point-two-percent in September, which still remains below the national average. More than 70-thousand people left the labor force, while the state added around 92-hundred jobs. Labor force participation is likely decreasing because people have become discouraged, are staying at home to take care of children, or are concerned about health risks going back to work.
