State Board Of Education Makes Changes To Curriculum

(Richmond)- Changes are coming to the history and science curriculum for students across the Commonwealth. The state Board of Education approved African-American history edits which will mandate that students grades Kindergarten through second grade gain additional knowledge and skills on the subject. It comes after recommendations from the Commission on African American History Education. The commission was created by Governor Northam in 2019 and consists of educators, school administrators, historians, and other leaders from across the Commonwealth.
