(Richmond)- Some serious flooding in parts of the state over the weekend. Consistent rain over the weekend forced the closure of Chippenham Parkway for several hours. Meanwhile, downed trees and high water was reported in Powhatan, Goochland, Amelia, and Chesterfield counties. Up to nine inches of rain fell in parts of Chesterfield County. Reports of heavy rain and power outages were also active in Hampton Roads and Virginia Beach.
