(Richmond)- Richmond’s mayor is seeking to legalize pot. Levar Stoney sent a letter to Governor Northam and other top leaders yesterday to bring the idea back on the table during next week’s special session. The idea is to establish a tax system for recreational use of marijuana. It was already decriminalized statewide earlier this year, which makes small possession a fine rather than jail time. Stoney wants to take the tax collected from marijuana sales to help out low-income students.
