(DC)- Metro is planning additional closures for construction purposes. The transit agency announced that they will be closing nine stations and will suspend the Silver Line to accelerate construction plans. Metro said the changes are possible because of the low ridership during the coronavirus pandemic. The East Falls Church, West Falls Church, Dunn Loring, and Vienna stations will close on the Orange Line. On the Silver Line, McLean, Tysons, Greensboro, Spring Hill, and Wiehle-Reston East stations will temporarily close. The closures will begin on Saturday, May 23rd.
