VCCW Inmate Speaks Out About Conditions At Facility

(Goochland)- One Goochland inmate is speaking out about prison conditions. Jacqueline Mills is currently incarcerated at the Virginia Correctional Center for Women and says she and the others in her unit are only allowed to shower every three days. She added that social distancing, especially when it comes to the phone call area, is lax and that inmates have to buy soap themselves once their March allotment runs out. The Virginia Department of Corrections says that between the Virgina Correctional Center for Women and the nearby State Farm Work Center, 20 inmates and 34 staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 and one person has died.
