(Richmond)- Governor Northam is postponing elective surgeries. The order would save beds and medical equipment, and free space for patients with severe cases of COVID-19. Emergency needs and abortions are not included in the changes. Northam is urging Virginians to join the Virginia Medical Reserve Corps, a group of volunteers that responds to emergencies.
